How Much Does Bridal Hair Cost in New Orleans?

Getting married is probably one of the most exciting times in a woman’s life, but most of the time, she is shocked by the cost of her glam team. So today we’re going to talk about bridal hair pricing!

First things first, I researched 8 different salons and independent stylist that chose to publish their rates (side note: the ones that publish their rates are usually more budget friendly- many don’t publish rates for a reason). I added all 8 prices for bridal hairstyling, which ranged from $65.00 to $130.00 and divided it by 8. So, you may be asking, “what is the average price I can expect to pay to get my hair done for my wedding”. Well, the average price is $81.25 for bridal hair services in New Orleans.

Here are some other things to consider about the pricing of your glam squad:

1. LOCATION.

It will always be slightly more to have your stylist come to you, otherwise known as “on location”, then it would be if you went to them. Having your glam squad come to you is actually really nice. You’re in the comfort of your house, hotel, or bridal suite, and it’s easier for you because it is one less stop on your wedding day adventures.

2. TIMING.

Early start fees do vary depending on how early your glam squad has to start. If you have an early or mid-day wedding, let’s say at 1 p.m., more than likely, your glam squad would have to start you and your bridal parties’ hair and makeup around 7 a.m., if not earlier. Because of this, many salons and independent stylist charge an early start fee. This usually ranges from $25 to $100.

3. HOLIDAY FEE.

This isn’t technically part of the pricing strategy of a bridal hairstylist, but it is something to consider when planning your wedding. Almost all bridal hairstylist and makeup artist I know charge a holiday fee. We are in a very unique industry where we do not get time and a half or over time if we have a wedding on a holiday, we get whatever we have created from a self-made business. For this reason, many of us charge a holiday fee. I will make a separate blog post going into more detail about this at a later date.

When choosing your wedding day glam team do not only factor in pricing and choose who is cheapest, that usually ends in disaster. Make sure the person you choose has the same style of work that you envision yourself to look like. The way you look with your hair and makeup done on your wedding day will be forever in the pictures. So why not spend a little more to get the perfect glam squad for you!
